The Glenfinnan Viaduct has become well known with Harry Potter fans as it was a famous filming location on which the Hogwarts Express travels over in the films.
The town of Glenfinnan sits on the edge of Loch Shiel in Scotland. Glenfinnan is famous for being where Bonnie Prince Charlie launched his campaign in 1745.
The viaduct spans 1000ft and is one of the most picturesque spots along Scotland’s West Highland Railway.
By visiting the viaduct from this viewpoint you will also be able to visit:

The Glenfinnan Monument
Glenfinnan is also home to a grand monument to mark the spot where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised the Jacobite standard in 1745.
The monument was erected in 1815 by Alexander MacDonald in honour of the clansmen that fought for Prince Charlie. You can climb to the top of the monument to have views over the loch.
